A 21-year-old man surnamed Zhao in Tin Shui Wai holding a foodpanda takeaway insulated bag was arrested by the police on suspicion of theft on January 2 this year. He alleged that the takeaway insulated bag did not belong to him.
When the man was taken back to the police station for investigation, he was involved in assaulting a male police officer in the head and was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer.
The police said that the man had been charged with one count of assaulting a police officer yesterday (14) and will appear in Tuen Mun Magistrates' Courts on April 15.
The police said that at about 10pm on January 2, when officers from the Tin Shui Wai Division were handling a case off No. 18 Tin Yan Road, they found a man acting suspiciously and stepped forward to intercept the investigation.
After investigation, officers seized a take-out insulation bag on the man who was suspected of not belonging to him.
The 21-year-old man surnamed Zhao was arrested on suspicion of theft and the case was handed over to the seventh team of the Yuen Long Police District Criminal Investigation Team for follow-up.
The 21-year-old man, surnamed Zhao, was taken back to the Tin Shui Wai Police Station during the investigation and attacked a male police officer with the head. He was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer.
