Germany also suspends use of AstraZeneca coronavirus vaccine

Ireland, Denmark, Norway, Iceland and the Netherlands had already done it. The pharmaceutical company assures that there is no evidence that the vaccine increases the risk of clots.

Germany on Monday suspended preventively the use of the coronavirus vaccine developed by the Astrazeneca laboratory, report from the Ministry of Health in Berlin.

The ministry added that the decision was made based on a current recommendation from the Paul Ehrlich Institute, the government body in charge of vaccine approval.

The German institute recommended further research on the vaccine.
