The plastic artists in Homs chose the archaeological hall in the Arba'een Church in the middle of the old city to hold their exhibition, which comes within the activities of the Culture and Media Forum, which started yesterday and continues over a period of two weeks.

The exhibition, which witnessed a wide presence of intellectuals and those interested in art and ancient heritage, included paintings from various schools of plastic arts, sculpture, oil painting and traditional crafts.

Archbishop “Georges Abu Zakhim” Archbishop of Homs and its dependencies for the Greek Orthodox described the exhibition as expressing the strong will for the continuity of art as a simple expressive means that unites and unites society in its various intellectual and social spectrum.

The plastic artist “Mazen Mansour” expressed in an interview with “Sana Al-Thaqafia” his happiness at the exhibition, where he participated in three paintings of oil painting in realistic and natural methods and protégé, noting the importance of the exhibition that brings together distinguished artists with promising talents to benefit from their experiences.

The artist “Muhammad Salman” participated in four paintings of abstract art with acrylic technique, embodying the art of ancient Syrian architecture while giving it the spirit of modernity.

The artist, "Muhammad Tayyib Hammam," who participated in one painting on Syrian history and civilization, talked about the importance of the exhibition in which art is in harmony with the original heritage.

The plastic artist “Haitham Al-Qahf” who presented sculptural works from the expressionist school that narrates the creative intellectual chaos. He described the exhibition as a qualitative cultural shift that confirms the continuation of life in this ancient city.

While the plastic artists “Farid Wassouf” and “Rami Shaheen” who participated in realist-style paintings, saw that the exhibition is a message that simulates the construction of the human being, which is the basis of building the nation.

Among the participating artists, "Mahabat Lyon", "Carmen Chakira" and "Yvonne DePaul" expressed their happiness to participate in the exhibition in which the innovations of veteran artists converge with young artists, get acquainted with their works and exchange constructive ideas towards high-end art that expresses the artist's emotional state and convey his message. The plastic artist "Emile Farha", head of the branch of the Fine Artists Union in Homs, considered that the participating artists were successful in their various works that formed a mosaic that gathered the colors of ancient Homsi art.

For his part, Muammar Al-Nahar, Director of the Culture and Media Forum, explained that the exhibition comes within the framework of the forum’s cultural activities, and its importance stems from the nobility of the historical place that embraced it, combining the past with the present in a beautiful modernist style.
