"The health services are, unfortunately, full and intensive care is currently almost ... the public and private services are 100% occupied," warned the Minister of Health, Julio Borba.

Some of the announced restrictions will take effect from Monday, and others from Thursday.

Borba reported that the new decree provides that from this Monday work activities are reduced to an essential minimum of people, through the application of crews for both the public and private sectors.

The head of the health portfolio added that the practice of amateur and contact sports will be suspended.

The Interior Minister, Arnaldo Giuzzio, explained that the driving ban from 8 pm to 5 am in the capital, Asunción, and 23 other cities considered "red zones" due to the increase in infections will be applied from Thursday and will be in force until April 4.
