Majid Takht Rawanji, Iran's permanent representative to the United Nations, reaffirmed that any solution to the crisis in Syria must guarantee its sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity.
Takht Rawanji said today at a meeting of the UN Security Council on Syria that the only solution to the crisis in Syria is a peaceful approach consistent with international law and that this crisis cannot end without ensuring the full sovereignty of Syria and the unity and territorial integrity of Syria, stressing the need for the American forces that occupy part to leave. He pointed out that the American occupation of part of the Syrian territories contradicts the basic principles of international law, calling for the departure of illegal foreign forces from Syria, especially the American forces.
He condemned the illegal US aggression on the Syrian-Iraqi border at the beginning of this month, stressing that such illegal actions would exacerbate tension in the region and must be stopped.
Takht Rawanji also condemned the continuation of the Israeli attacks on Syria, calling on the international community to force the Israeli occupation entity to stop its continuous aggression against Syria.
