Tonight (Tuesday) at midnight, the term of Blue and White Chairman Bnei Gantz will expire as Deputy Minister of Communications and the ministry will remain without a minister. Gantz was appointed acting Minister of Communications at the end of December, following the resignation of former Minister His temporary term of office for only three months.

Gantz has announced that he will appoint his party member Eitan Ginzburg to a permanent appointment, but the appointment is delayed as Gantz also demands the appointment of a permanent justice minister, ahead of the expiration of his temporary term on April 1 - and the Likud refuses to raise the appointment for government approval.

Now, with the expiration of Gantz's temporary term, the Ministry of Communications will be left without a minister, and his powers will be delegated to the ministry's director general, Liran Avishar Ben-Horin.

Gantz held a meeting with senior officials of the ministry tonight and signed a series of resolutions that will allow the ministry to continue to function properly even without a minister.

Blue and White warn of a "governmental vacuum" to be created in a ministry without a minister, noting some issues that could not be promoted such as reform of the abolition of supplier and infrastructure separation, severe damage to the quality of service to the public and harm to potential price reductions.

Gantz demanded last week that the permanent appointments of the Minister of Communications and the Minister of Justice be put to a vote at the cabinet meeting.

In a letter sent by the Deputy Prime Minister's Office, Hod Betzer, to the Prime Minister, Blue and White, they warn that the appointments of deputies in these cases are about to expire and demand that the ombudsman demand that they be filled with permanent appointments.

"Raising these issues on the agenda is necessary to prevent material and irreversible damage to the activities of government ministries and as a result to overriding public interests," Betzer wrote.
