The investigation into the death of Diego Maradona is progressing and in the last hours details were known about different conversations between
Leopoldo Luque
and
Agustina Cosachov
-the two main accused doctors-, in which
they refer to the heart disease suffered by the ex-footballer
, and that led him to death.
The conversation that involves Luque is from September 2 of last year, that is, two and a half months before the death of Maradona and his interlocutor is a doctor from the Ipensa clinic in La Plata, where the general practitioner of the DT of Gymnastics wanted to do a checkup.
In the dialogue, broadcast by the Télam agency, he minimizes the need for more complex studies on the cardiological situation of his patient.
"
I have an idea that he had heart disease
and what I don't know is if he has any recent studies," the Ipensa doctor warns Luque.
The neurosurgeon replied with the following audio: "Last time he had a Doppler, a Doppler, an echocardiogram, and also neck vessels, an electrocardiogram and the cardiologists at the Olivos clinic
said that everything was fine
. medicates with Lozartan for pressure ".
The neurosurgeon Leopoldo Luque, together with Diego Maradona, after the operation carried out weeks before his death.
"Basically that would be in principle, an electrocardiogram,
no perfusion studies
and those things seem too much to me and the idea is to do something, let's say general and a
half fast
, for the coronavirus issue, did you see? Not having much there and also he does not He is very fond of being in the sanatoriums, "Luque added.
The doctor from the La Plata clinic
insists
with the most in-depth studies: "I was asking you about the subject of heart disease because here we do quite quickly are perfusion studies that are short, it is to put a physical stress on it and eject it and look at it under the camera".
But Luque
rejects the offer
: "The perfusion thing, no. I would tell you no because
he is not going to want to
, so we do what you said at the beginning, let's say the basic check-up studies and impeccable with that, right?"
The other chat under analysis by the prosecutors is one on November 17, that is, eight days before the death of the former captain of the Argentine National Team, where the paradox is that the psychologist Carlos Daniel "Charly" Díaz, also accused in the case , suggests Cosachov to try a medication -
something reserved for psychiatrists, not psychologists
- for the drowsiness.

"I thought about the possible usefulness of Modafinil as an adjuvant to antidepressants.
You saw that it is a gem for narcolepsy,
" Diaz suggests.
"No, Modafilino does not close me, first
because of the cardiac issue of his history
and it does not close me because it could increase the tremor as it is a stimulant. I have used it but with other types of patients, in this case it does not close me much" Cosachov replies.
In the middle of the dialogue, a certain improvisation of the professionals is exposed when Díaz tells Cosachov: "A neurologist has to go to cover us.
We have to get CH (medical history) and know what medications he took throughout his life
, to to know how it worked with stabilizers ", to which the psychiatrist replied that the neurologist had already gone to see Maradona, which the psychologist was unaware of.
Díaz proposes another drug to her: "Try levodopa? I mean, it's not going to make him try a touch badly", to which the psychiatrist replies: "No, no ... I don't think we're going to mess with that because, look , the neurologist went and gave him no indication of that. "
The messages are transcribed in the Maradona file and are analyzed by the team of investigators coordinated by the San Isidro attorney general, John Broyad, and made up of his deputies, Cosme Iribarren and Patricio Ferrari, and by the Benavídez prosecutor, Laura Capra.
Maradona, the greatest figure in the history of Argentine football, died at the age of 60 on November 25, 2020 at noon, in a house in the private neighborhood of San Andrés, in Tigre, where he was in a home hospital
that is under investigation.
The autopsy determined that he died as a result of "acute pulmonary edema secondary to
exacerbated chronic heart failure
" and a "
dilated cardiomyopathy
" was
discovered in his heart
.
Since March 8, 20 official and party experts have held a medical meeting ordered by prosecutors to determine
if the death could have been prevented
, if there was malpractice and what responsibility falls to each health professional who treated him.
