They question sanitary measures in Venezuela 3:10
(CNN Spanish) -
The questioned president of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, said this Sunday that in the second week of March there was an increase in the number of confirmed infections and new deaths from covid-19.
He added that this increase has to do with the variant identified in Brazil, although some epidemiology experts attribute the rebound in recent weeks to the relaxation and extension of the carnival holidays this year.
Maduro announced in a live broadcast that the week of March 15-21 will be “limited and partial relaxation” with a sanitary fence in the capital region, which will include Caracas, La Guaira, Miranda and Bolívar.

Maduro pointed out that what he called the "sanitary fence" was decreed in Caracas, Vargas, Miranda and Bolívar and that it aims to "declare an emergency in those states to open new hospital capacities, especially intensive care capacities."

Additionally, Maduro instructed his government team to maintain the hospitalization of all positive cases of covid-19, for which he announced that "the sanitary hotels would be rehabilitated again."
That is to say, hotels that the State authorizes so that asymptomatic patients with mild symptoms receive medical attention.
Moderate to severe cases would receive care in the conventional public and private health system.

The executive vice president, Delcy Rodríguez, added that they have found the Brazilian variant in five states of the country.
He specified that in the last hours 574 new cases have been confirmed, Caracas being the town with the highest number of infections, with 96 cases.
He stressed that in that period seven people died as a result of the virus.
