Foreign Minister Muhammad Javad Zarif announced that his country was able, with the efforts of its scientists, to manufacture and produce an anti-Coronavirus vaccine.
At a forum held in Tehran today on combating the Corona epidemic, Zarif said that “the efforts of Iranian scientists have contributed to the production of an anti-Corona vaccine, just as many types of missiles were made,” criticizing the West’s monopoly on vaccines.
Zarif pointed to the importance of fairness in distributing vaccines and creating equal opportunities for rich and poor countries, wishing that countries understand that vaccines cannot be monopolized.
He asked, “Why does the West monopolize the vaccine three times its consumption needs” and Zarif said .. “The efforts of our scientists, along with the efforts of scientists from other countries, allowed us to manufacture the Corona vaccine by ourselves, just as we had to manufacture the missile ourselves in order to be strong and coherent.” Zarif considered that “Corona virus” "Show how the world is interconnected, which means that in a globalized world, we cannot be healthy while our neighbor is sick."
