The emergence of streaming platforms has been a boon for the music market.
But not all artists have won.
The proof: 90% say they receive less than 1000 euros per year from streaming platforms.
And this, even if they are broadcast more than 100,000 times, according to a survey by Aepo-Artis, an association that brings together 36 collective management organizations of performers in Europe.
For many, survival therefore went through the stage.
In the United States, for example, it is estimated that concerts represent around 75% of musicians' income, up from around 30% in the 1980s and 1990s. By banning festivals and concerts, the crisis has therefore deprived artists of most of their earnings.
