According to the latest documents from the Yuen Long District Council, the Planning Department proposes to set aside land in the approved draft outline zoning plans of Yuen Long and Tin Shui Wai and change the use into residential land. It is proposed to build 4,000 public housing units on Tin Wah Road in Lau Fau Shan. It will be completed in two phases in 2030 and 2032, and will be discussed by the District Council tomorrow (16th).
According to the documents submitted by the Planning Department to the Yuen Long District Council Housing and Urban Planning and Development Committee meeting, the Woodworking Engineering Department proposes a piece of land with an area of about 3.7 km north of Tin Wah Road, west of Tin Ying Road and east of Shajiang Wai , It is planned to build a public housing project. By then, five residential buildings will be built, providing four thousand units, which is expected to accommodate 11,170 people. The project will be completed in two phases. The first phase will be occupied in 2030 and the second phase will be in 2032. Upon occupation, the housing estate will be equipped with kindergartens, parking lots, shops and community welfare facilities.
In order to meet the development needs of the public housing project, the Planning Department proposes to remove a piece of land in Tin Shui Wai as a "Government, Institution or Community" zone and part of the land shown as "Roads" from the "Approved Tin Shui Wai Outline Zoning Plan", and To rezone the area on the "Approved Lau Fau Shan and Tsim Bei Tsui Outline Zoning Plan" as "Residential (Group C)" and "Green Belt" to "Residential (Group A)", Civil Engineering and Development Department A consultant has been commissioned to conduct a feasibility study of site formation and infrastructure works for the proposed public housing development, including the potential impact of the development project on the traffic and transportation, environment, sewage, water supply, vision, landscape and air circulation in the nearby area , Expect no insurmountable technical problems.
The document mentioned that the relevant amendments have been collected and submitted to the Town Planning Board’s Rural and New Town Planning Subcommittee for consideration after collecting opinions from members and government departments. After the committee’s approval, they will be submitted to the Town Planning Board for a period of two months. Public consultation for relevant stakeholders to make representations.
