Munich - The courage of Ali P. (29, name changed), who intervened on Sunday evening when a man stabbed his ex-girlfriend with a knife on the street.

The day after, P remembers: “I heard cries for help.

Shortly afterwards I saw a woman.

It was covered in blood.

A man stabbed her with a knife - and I knew I had to act, "says Ali P.

“I didn't think long.

As the tz taxi driver describes, he was taking a break at the subway at Moosach train station on Sunday shortly before 7 p.m. to eat something - then he suddenly heard a woman screaming for help.

“I ran in the direction of the calls, across the street.

There I saw how the man stabbed the woman, ”says the 29-year-old.

"People were standing around who didn't do anything ..."

But for Ali P. it was clear: he had to act.

“I didn't think about it for long,” he says.

He kicked the knife man with his foot and pulled the woman away from him.

Then the 29-year-old called the police.

Meanwhile, the attacker got up and attacked the woman again.

P. intervened again - and this time he got help.

“There were still people joining us.

The attacker finally fled, ”says the taxi driver.

A man (namely the victim's husband, as it later turned out) finally put the seriously injured woman in a car and drove away with her - "to a hospital, as I saw," said Ali P.

Apparently the rescuer was not a second late.

On Monday the police said about the fact that the woman came quickly to the hospital: "Due to the rapid medical care and an emergency operation that this made possible, her life was saved."

It is now clear: The knife man is the ex-boyfriend of the woman, a 38-year-old homeless and unemployed, already known to the police.

According to the court order, he shouldn't have met the woman at all.

His escape was unsuccessful: police officers caught him shortly after the crime.

He is in custody for attempted murder.

That it stayed with the attempt: That is thanks to Ali P.

In the middle of Munich, a woman was lucky in misery.
