Puchheim - The city council's development committee has now spoken out in favor of a parking space key, according to which only one parking space per apartment generally has to be allocated.
So far there have been two if the living space is over 80 square meters.
In return, 1.25 bicycle parking spaces per room will have to be provided in the future; so far, exactly one was enough.
With this regulation one does not expect a car-free center, but more alternative means of transport.
City center Puchheim: Car sharing station
The reason for the innovation is the special location.
The train station is very close by, almost all buses run here, and there is also a car-sharing station.
The administration argued that there was no need for a car to go shopping or to attend events.
In addition, living could become cheaper if large, expensive underground garages or parking spaces that take up a lot of space were no longer needed to the same extent as before.
It is hoped that future residents will do without a vehicle and will mainly travel by bike, on foot or by public transport.
The Greens saw it similarly.
To plan for the future means to take into account the changed mobility behavior of an “urban population”, said Manfred Sengl.
In Munich you can see how the car has become superfluous, especially for young people.
Michaela von Hagen (FW), on the other hand, was skeptical: Probably very few new tenants would move to the center of Puchheim in the future to enjoy cycling.

City center Puchheim: New living space

The plans for two apartment buildings with a total of 17 apartments on the previously undeveloped property next to the youth center are practically finished.

As two parish council members mentioned as guests in the committee, such ideas are by no means undisputed on site.
