Ranking of high schools 2021: the Covid upsets the figures but the private sector remains largely in the lead

ANALYSIS - The continuous assessment imposed on final year students in 2020 has exploded success in the bac without putting the private sector at a disadvantage in the ranking.


Obviously, the 2021 edition of the high school ranking is anything but ordinary.

As the 2020 bac took place in continuous assessment due to the health crisis, the results of the baccalaureate graduates were stratospheric.

With 760,800 candidates and 723,000 high school graduates, the 2020 bac pass rate was 95% against 88.1% in 2019, an increase of 6.9 points.

For the general baccalaureate, the success rate rose to 97.6%, against 91.1% in 2019 (+ 6.5 points).

To say that they were only 60% to get it in 1960 ...

These results are reflected in the 2021 ranking, also out of the ordinary, established using indicators provided each year since 1993 by the statistical services of the Ministry of National Education.

Thus, no less than 700 high schools (out of 2,300) obtained 100% success in the bac, all general and technological fields combined.

In 2019, there were only 212, almost 500 fewer.

In terms of mentions, 11 high schools obtain a mention rate of 100% against 3 per year
