The director of the Gamalia Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology in Russia, Alexander Ginsburg, confirmed that the Russian vaccine (Sputnik V) protects against the British strain of Corona virus.
Sputnik quoted Ginsburg as saying that "it has been verified experimentally, including in the institute's laboratories, that the vaccine obtained from those who were vaccinated with the (Sputnik V) vaccine completely neutralizes the stimulus for the British strain of Covid 19," indicating that studies are underway on the possibility of protection. Other strains and results will appear within a week.
And a recent study indicated that the mutated British strain raised death levels among males between the ages of 55 and 69 years from 0.6 percent to 0.9 percent during the 28 days following the positive test result.
It is noteworthy that the (Sputnik V) vaccine is the first recorded vaccine in the world to prevent Covid 19 disease and was developed at Gamalia Center in cooperation with the Russian Investment Fund.
