During the Nordic World Championships in Oberstdorf, which ended on March 7th, the German Ski Association (DSV) set a topic that runs counter to the dreams of Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
The DSV and the Oberstdorf Organizing Committee have a renewed application, one speaks of a bonus World Cup because there were no spectators due to the corona, for 2027.

Under the item “Further procedure” it says: “There is a clear position on the part of the 1st Mayoress and the SCG that an application for an Alpine Ski World Championships in Garmisch-Partenkirchen in the same year as Oberstdorf is out of the question.” Also a World Cup in 2029 is not an alternative, otherwise the reduction in application costs (91,000 euros for the community) would be lost.

A week ago, Steinle did not see a problem in entering the race with two German locations, according to "Spiegel online" - even if the risk of at least one rejection is high.

The Garmisch-Partenkirchner municipal council should give its approval at the meeting on April 15th.
It is possible that the decision-making process at the DSV has not yet been completed by this date.
Koch expects a "basic discussion" about the application that the CSU has submitted.
The mayor sees the Christian Social Ranks closed, while the Greens have already announced that they will refuse their placet.
Every effort should now be made to capture the other councilors who are still undecided.
