Not very visible, but nevertheless very active, the 35 members of the citizen collective on vaccination are continuing their work but will they simply be audible?

In the midst of the crisis over the suspension of the AstraZeneca, will they be heard?

Will they just be audible in the heart of this storm?

Not very visible, but nevertheless very active, the 35 members of the citizen collective on vaccination are continuing their work with a mandate: to formulate recommendations alongside a temporary committee made up of 31 EESC advisers, with the aim of supporting the vaccination campaign. General public.

Last weekend, the collective gathered for its third session.

By videoconference, citizens established around 40 recommendations relating to communication around the vaccine and its accessibility.

They plead for “

positive and adapted

communication

to “

each category of the population

”: elderly people, rural populations, anti-vaccines, but also “

precarious and remote populations

” such as migrants or the homeless.

Everyone must be “

involved

” in the campaign.

Emphasis is also placed on youth, for whom the 35 citizens want awareness spots to be produced "

by young people for young people

".

The collective also demands transparency.

The draws ask the State for “

clear objectives

” as well as a presentation of the “

logic that presides over decisions

”.

On logistics, they advocate a more "

territorialized

" approach and recommend increasing the number of places for vaccination.

During their third session, citizens directly submitted their recommendations to Prof. Alain Fischer, president of the Vaccine Strategy Orientation Council.

They must meet again this week to obtain a more exhaustive feedback on their work which will then allow them to make "

viable proposals to the government".

Priority themes

The EESC also congratulated itself on the “

success

” of its collaborative platform.

Launched on February 17 on the issue of the "vaccine passport", the consultation gathered 110,000 contributions.

The results unveiled on Tuesday attest to strong opposition to the implementation of the pass.

67.1% of the volunteers who participated are thus "very unfavorable", 5.6% "unfavorable", 20.2% "very favorable", 5.1% "favorable" and finally 2% are "mixed".

These figures, accompanied by the “arguments” put forward by the participants, will now be studied by the temporary committee and the citizens' collective in order to feed their work.

It remains to be seen to what extent the government will use this work to adapt its vaccination campaign, which is currently in the midst of turbulence.

The contributions relating to the passport have already been made public.

The presence of a member of the government on March 29, however, has not yet been confirmed.
