The Director of the Office of Arab and African Affairs at the Iranian Trade Development Organization, Farzad Bilten, announced a plan to raise trade exchange with Syria to 1.5 billion dollars within the next three years.

Pelten explained in a statement to Fars News Agency today that the organization has developed a plan to export goods to Syria worth 400 million dollars in return for imports of 100 million dollars in 2023, and the remainder of the targeted volume will include expansion in the export of technical and engineering services to Syria.

He indicated that the organization is following up the issue of launching a land transport transit line through Iraq to Syria and opening a shipping line between Iran and Syrian ports, which is almost ready for launch.

He indicated that Iranian exports to Syria during the period between March 20, 2020 until February 18, 2021 amounted to about $ 104 million, down from the previous similar period, indicating that this decrease is due to the repercussions of the Corona pandemic, which led to the stopping of exhibitions in Syria and trade exchange between The two countries.
