Ben Gurion Airport storm:

Transportation Minister Miri Regev intends to participate tomorrow (Thursday) in a discussion with senior officials from the Ministry of Health, the National Security Council and the Ombudsman, in which she will propose an outline for the opening of Ben Gurion Airport.

The proposal of the Minister of Transportation is an entry permit for 7,000 arrivals from Israel and 7,000 departures - about 40 flights a day in each direction.

As part of the outline that the Minister of Transportation is expected to present tomorrow at the meeting, it will go up once again, and as first reported in "Israel Today", every entrant will be required to check the antigen and the Exceptions Committee will continue to operate only for unvaccinated people.

All these details are expected to come before the ombudsman in order to try and move everything until March 20 at midnight, and bring about a wide, but controlled opening of the sky.

As will be recalled, the hearing that will take place tomorrow is intended to examine how to deal with the High Court ruling regarding Ben Gurion Airport, with the feeling in the health system that the High Court has created a dangerous loophole in its ruling, which could return Israel to days of increased morbidity.

The High Court ruled earlier today that the skies in Israel will be fully open - the daily entry restriction will be lifted as early as this coming weekend, March 20. This means that vaccinated and recovering people can enter the country almost indefinitely, except for tests. Airlines can receive landing permits in Israel In significantly higher numbers than it was supposed to be so far.
