Are Ile-de-France and Hauts-de-France going to be re-defined?
To find out, we will have to wait a little longer.
The government spokesman, Gabriel Attal, announced it this Wednesday at midday: new braking measures have been decided and “will be announced (Thursday) at 6 pm” by the Prime Minister Jean Castex and the minister of Health Olivier Véran.
These “decisions” must be further refined at the end of “consultations” which must be held in the coming hours with the local elected representatives of the regions concerned.
"We will go further, especially in the Île-de-France region and in Hauts-de-France from this weekend," warns Gabriel Attal straight away.
Charge to Jean Castex and Olivier Véran to specify these measures Thursday evening.
Sketched out in a defense council held this Wednesday morning at the Elysee Palace, they will be "applicable from this weekend".

Among the biggest expected measures, the defense council was to decide in particular on a possible reconfinement in Ile-de-France - 12 million inhabitants - and in Hauts-de-France, 6 million inhabitants.
"Consultations will take place" with the political leaders of the departments concerned, indicates this Wednesday Gabriel Attal.
The "departments contiguous to these regions", whose representatives will also be consulted, are also likely to experience new measures, according to Gabriel Attal.
The Ardennes, Aube, Marne, Yonne, Eure, Loire, Eure-et-Loir, Loiret and Seine-Maritime would therefore be concerned.

Tuesday, Jean Castex had qualified the situation of "worrying and critical" and underlined that the "data" were "gathered" for a reconfinement of Ile-de-France, where the intensive care services are in great demand.
According to the details provided by Gabriel Attal on Wednesday, the Provence-Alpes-Côte d'Azur region should be spared by the new measures.
