With the aim of strengthening the partnership between the public and private sectors, the Ministry of Tourism, represented by the General Authority for Tourism and Hotel Training, has moved towards strengthening cooperation with the Syrian Association for Sustainable Tourism "Al-Feniq" by signing a memorandum of understanding between them recently to develop training curricula to meet the requirements of the labor market.

Director of the General Authority for Tourism and Hotel Training, Engineer Musallam Al-Naem, explained in a statement to the delegate of SANA that the aim of the memorandum is to contribute to the development of training curricula in the tourism and hotel training centers to meet the requirements of the labor market and expand the field of education and e-training to raise the efficiency of the education and training sector, pointing out that the programs are being worked on. Quality to support the Authority’s activities and meet the needs of the tourism sector in the recovery and reconstruction phases.

For her part, Director of the Syrian Association for Sustainable Tourism “Al-Feniq” Dima Akkad stated that the memorandum contributes to building channels for linking the outputs of education and training in the tourism sector and the variables of the labor market and its requirements through integrated projects through the establishment of an electronic operating platform, pointing out that the association seeks to achieve sustainable tourism and build The capabilities of the human resource required for the tourism sector, in addition to providing technical and technical support to raise the level of tourism services.

The areas of cooperation between the authority and the association include a training and employment program implemented by the Syrian Tourism Association entitled “Teach me to hunt”, during which training and capacity building were provided to more than 950 beneficiaries according to the needs of the labor market in the tourism sector, and more than 70 percent of them got decent job opportunities in this sector.
