The Ministry of Information mourned the artist Mayada Basilis, who passed away today at the age of 54 after a struggle with an incurable disease after a tender artistic career.
The artist, Basilis, was born in Aleppo in 1967 and began her artistic career at the age of nine, when she released 14 albums, beginning with “Katili by Abandonment”.
The late woman won the Golden Award for Best Arabic Song 1999 for the song “Kadhdak Helou”, as well as singing several badges for series such as “Sons of El-Qahr”.
The wife of musician Samir Kouifati has performed many concerts inside and outside Syria, and her most prominent concerts are ... in the “Palace of Fine Arts” San Francisco, America, the Opera House in Madrid, Spain, and the Egyptian Opera House.
Through her artistic career, the late woman has won many local and Arab awards, including the golden ornina three times, the first prize at the Arab Music Festival in Casablanca, the gold award for the best videotaped song, the gold in the Cairo Festival, and others.
