The As-Suwayda Tourism Directorate has developed a promotional plan to revitalize the tourism movement in the governorate during the current season, which includes holding exhibitions of heritage, traditional industries, flowers, equestrian shows and various festivals in cooperation with official and civil events.
The Director of Al-Suwayda Tourism, Yarob Al-Arbeed, explained to SANA that the plan includes the establishment of an exhibition of Syrian heritage within the celebration of the Syrian Heritage Day (Akito) in the village of Hebran and the town of infidelity and an exhibition of traditional industries and the manufacture of folk clothing, which highlights the role of rural women in local development and family support and an exhibition of flowers and ornamental plants in cooperation With the owners of nurseries and workers in the field of home ornamental roses to highlight the beauty of nature in the Sweida countryside.
He pointed out that the plan also includes horse and equestrian performances to show the role of equestrian sport as a tourist attraction and an event of the authentic folklore, during which a number of poets will be hosted and cultural seminars will be held to introduce the history of the governorate and a promotional festival in the town of Qanawat and the ancient city of Shahba to introduce the importance of archaeological sites, an artistic process of folklore and folkloric paintings. A dancer, an exhibition of handicrafts and another of art paintings documenting historical monuments in Qanawat and Shahba, in conjunction with the opening of a market for the marketing and promotion of handicrafts.
According to Al-Arbeed, the plan also includes the establishment of the (Suwaida Summer brings us together) festival in several places, including the towns of Shaqa and al-Qurayya, with the participation of folklore groups, an exhibition for traditional agricultural industries, and another for the manufacture of hand-made carpets, traditional crafts and food industries in a number of villages in the governorate, in addition to holding an event for popular food with the participation of workers in the field Feeding the tourism facilities in the governorate within the tasting competition.
It is noteworthy that these events will be held in cooperation with the Directorate of Culture, the Chamber of Tourism of the Southern Region, a number of investors, craftsmen, craftswomen, the local community, and a number of administrative unit councils.
