The director of the Sahnaya Electricity Department, Eng. Atta Wahba, explained in a statement to the representative of SANA that the department provides its services to the areas of “Ashrafieh, Sanaya, Sabina, Daraya, Building al-Kuwaiti, and the suburb of March 8”, pointing out that despite the unjust economic blockade on the Syrian people, several problems have been addressed to the electrical network in these areas. And securing electricity for citizens and government institutions.
In order to reduce the loads for a large part of the areas of Ashrafieh and Sahnaya between Wahba, during the last period the capacity of six transformers in Ashrafieh and Sahnaya, the construction of Al-Kuwaiti, Ashraf Al-Alali, the establishment of two transfer centers and put them into service during last February and the rehabilitation of an intermediate exit from the station "Maidan 2" Al-Madaniya "will soon be put into service After rehabilitating his networks.
He pointed out that there are 4 transmission centers currently under implementation in Ashrafieh 2 and Sahnaya 2, explaining that the load distribution networks have been rehabilitated on the low-voltage networks almost in the entire region, controlling most of the faults by 80 percent, in addition to providing 300 single electric meters installed according to seniority.
Wahba indicated that work is being done to remove irregularities and exchange lines within the region, as the percentage of this phenomenon has reached 70 percent, and the control is regulated on a daily basis against the violators, especially the illegal importation of electrical current, as 150 controls have been organized since the beginning of the year, 50 of which are commercial and 100 domestic, explaining. The collection has reached 92% due to the citizens' commitment to pay their bills.
Regarding the discrepancy in rationing between one region and another within the scope of the Sahnaya Electricity Department, Wahba revealed that the department is fed from four stations located in “Al-Moaadamiya and Jisr Al-Kiswah.”

Regarding the department's plan for the current year, Wahba pointed out that it includes the reconstruction of the networks destroyed by terrorism in the regions of Daraya, Al-Sabina and the industrial zone in Port Said in the Al-Qadam neighborhood, as well as the follow-up of establishing new centers to relieve the centers with high loads, as more than 20 transfer centers in Ashrafieh and Sahnaya were studied. Wahba reviewed work problems, most notably the theft of cables and the equipment of public and private transmission centers, where more than 12 transmission centers were stolen and wires and cables were stolen at the entrances to the buildings, calling on citizens to report any phenomenon of theft to reduce them, explaining at the same time that for the stolen meters in the areas of Al-Sabina and Daraya, the subscriber has to Meter clearance to obtain a new meter.
The Sahnaya Electricity Department has four emergency offices distributed in “Achrafieh, Al Sabina, 8 March suburb, and Daraya” that receive citizens' complaints and work to deal with them.
