The Director of Preparedness and Emergency at the Ministry of Health, Dr. Tawfiq, revealed that the occupancy rate of intensive care beds for Corona patients in public hospitals designated for confirmed and suspected cases of corona in Damascus reached 100 percent.

In a statement to SANA, the doctor stated that the spread of Corona locally is witnessing a significant increase and the occupancy rate of the patient care beds in each of the “hardworking” hospitals in Damascus, Ibn Al-Nafees, the Red Crescent and Al-Mouwasat is complete, and yesterday a number of Corona patients who need intensive care were transferred to other governorates.

The doctor reaffirmed the need for strict adherence to measures to prevent the spread of the virus in terms of wearing the muzzle, sterilization and spatial separation, as it is the cornerstone of protection.

Coronavirus infections record an upward trend that becomes more and more evident in the last two weeks, and according to the Ministry of Health data, it announced yesterday that 120 new cases of Coronavirus were recorded in Syria, and the recovery of 90 cases and the death of 10 of the recorded infections with the virus.

The number of injuries registered in Syria has reached 16,776 so far, 11231 recovered, and 1120 cases died.
