The surprise trip by Emmanuel Macron on Wednesday to Poissy, in Île-de-France, raised a wind of criticism among elected officials in the Ile-de-France region.
The Head of State had chosen to meet with certain handpicked mayors such as those of Versailles, Mantes-la-Ville or Ploemeur in Brittany.
But those who discovered the news without being invited expressed their regret publicly, especially since the regional health situation required, according to them, a minimum of consultation.
