On the occasion of Teacher's Day, the Ministry of Education today honored 56 of the oldest teachers in classrooms in all governorates, in appreciation of their fruitful efforts, at the Al-Assad House for Culture and Arts in Damascus.

The honoring ceremony included the presentation of 11 folkloric dancers for the various Syrian governorates, a short film about the honorees, and national music compositions by the Ministry's orchestra led by Maestro Kamal Skiker.

In a speech during the ceremony, Minister of Education Darem Tabaa considered that the teacher is a bright light who spends his life serving the children of his nation, and he deserves to celebrate it even for one day a year, indicating that the honor included the oldest teachers and teachers who still stand in classrooms, their throats ringing and their pens enlightening while they teach their students and raise them up Fit to be citizens able to follow the march and keep pace with the development towards a promising future.

The honor is the result of a great effort and motivation that calls for diligence and perseverance in working devotedly in building this generation, according to teachers Hamid Suleiman Abu Saif and Mahmoud Hassan Youssef in raising Hasakah, who considered that the Ministry's appreciation of their efforts represents a medal on their chests because the student is a trust that must be preserved.

The honoring ceremony was attended by the member of the central leadership of the Arab Socialist Baath Party, the head of the Education and Vanguards Office, Yasser Al-Shoufi, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Bassam Bashir Ibrahim, the Syndicate of Syrian Teachers, Waheed Al-Zaal, the President of the Revolutionary Youth Union, Afif Dalla, the head of the Baath Vanguards Organization, Dr. Ezzat Arabi, a writer, and the Secretary of the Damascus and Countryside Branch of the Party. The Arab Socialist Baath, Hussam al-Samman, Radwan Mustafa, a number of members of the People's Assembly, directors of education, teachers presidents in the governorates, and assistants of the Minister of Education.
