A new study published Tuesday in the Journal of Geophysical Research concluded that Oumuamua - the first interstellar object observed in our solar system - is likely a fragment of a planet similar to Pluto.
The characteristics analyzed indicate that Oumuamua - which means messenger in Hawaiian - may be made of solid nitrogen like the surface of Pluto.
