Tartous-Sana
Tartous Governorate is witnessing an increase in the number of Coronavirus infections, and this is evidenced by the number of visitors to some hospitals in the governorate, including Al-Bassel in the city and the Martyr Eyad Ibrahim Hospital in the city of Baniyas.
Dr. Iskandar Ammar, Director of the General Authority of Al-Basil Hospital in Tartous, confirmed that the number of cases increased three times during this week and that there are currently 60 patients in the hospital's isolation department, in addition to the increasing number of cases that are reviewing the chest division.
Ammar called for caution and attention from infection and a return to full compliance with the precautionary measures against the virus, as it is dangerous and contagious, and he said .. We have started with a new wave and the best way is prevention because so far there is no drug that kills the virus, and thus prevention remains the best solution.
In turn, Dr. Imad Bashour, Director of the Martyr Eyad Ibrahim Hospital in the city of Baniyas, confirmed the increase in the number of admissions to the isolation department of the hospital this month, as the number reached 11 patients, while last month it decreased to one patient in addition to the increase in the number of reviewers with a complaint of chest pain and those who are discharged and prescribed treatment and isolation Them at home.
He added .. that the isolation department in the hospital includes 13 beds and that there are two sections that were used in the first wave and each of them accommodates 27 beds, meaning that approximately 70 patients can be accommodated, pointing out that at the peak time of the last wave, the maximum number of patients returning to the hospital was 30 patients per day. It decreased to two and three patients and has now returned to the upside, which indicates a good spread that needs attention.
Bashour concluded by noting the importance of adhering to the precautionary measures against the virus, expressing his fear of having to return to stop operations in the hospital, as happened with the last peak.
It is noteworthy that the number of registered and confirmed cases of the virus in Tartous, according to the statistics of the Syrian Ministry of Health, which it published on its Facebook page, reached 15 new infections yesterday, an increase of 8 from the day before yesterday.
