The Brazilian health authorities announced the registration of 90,570 new infections with the Coronavirus, which is the highest daily death toll from the virus since the start of the epidemic.
Reuters quoted the Brazilian Ministry of Health as saying in a statement that 2815 new deaths were recorded from the virus, indicating that the total number of infections rose to 11871390 and deaths to 290,314 cases.
The Pan American Health Organization confirmed that Coronavirus cases are increasing in half of the countries of the Americas, calling on Brazil to protect its people in the face of the record high numbers of infections and deaths.
