An industrial accident occurred at No. 88 Hung Yuen Road, Hung Yuen Road, Hung Shui Kiu, Yuen Long. The police received a report from the Housing Estate Management Office at 11 am today (19th) that a 30-year-old male renovation worker fell from a height.
The ambulanceman arrived at the scene and confirmed that the victim died on the spot.
Preliminary investigation indicated that a unit on the 7th floor of the building was undergoing renovation works. It was found that the lampshade on the top of the balcony was not installed at the scene. It is suspected that the victim fell off the building while climbing the wooden ladder to change the light bulb.
The police classified the case as a work injury and are investigating the cause of the accident.
