Destruction at the monument:

This morning (Friday) a graffiti with the words: "God's messenger, the monkey team" was discovered in the monument in the square leading to the "Yad Vashem" museum, at an intersection outside the site.

Acting Chairman of the Yad Vashem Board, Ronen Plot, stated that he condemns the act of vandalism and added: "Yad Vashem is dedicated to the memory of the Holocaust and the six million and such an act is an unforgivable injury to them and their memory, especially these days ".

"Without determining the identity or motives of the vandal, I can determine that any sane person sees the letters 'Yad Vashem' on the monument and understands what it means. I leave it to the Israel Police to investigate the act and find the vandal and I am sure the Jerusalem municipality will clear the address soon. "Attending Yad Vashem in the coming weeks will not have to see this act of vandalism," he added.
