The Académie française contributes to the great growth of the Francophonie.
It has in its ranks great names from the French-speaking world and accepts in its Dictionary a number of words and expressions from Switzerland, Belgium, Quebec and more widely from the African continent.
Recently, its perpetual secretary, Hélène Carrère d'Encausse, participated in the launch of the

, promoted by Emmanuel Macron.
