The rows of visitors at the latest market council meeting in Nandlstadt were full - because it was again about wind power.

But the tree protection also moved the gathering.

Nandlstadt

- Michael Schranner (BLN) asked why the Green Open List (GoL) is campaigning for a new tree protection ordinance, but at the same time accepting the clearing for the local wind turbines, caused loud applause from the audience at the latest municipal council meeting.

It was precisely the GoL's request to protect community trees that aroused more tempers than the “request” from the district administration to think again about the second wind turbine.

Mayor Gerhard Betz (UWN) gave the council and the more than 20 attending visitors information: On February 24th, the district office wrote him a letter with the request for a new resolution on the municipal agreement in the case of wind turbine number 2 near Airischwand.

In September last year, the municipal councils spoke out clearly with 7:14 votes against the immission control approval of the construction proposal.

According to Betz, the district office now recommends reconsidering this rejection.

If the municipality should continue to oppose it by refusing to consent, the district authority even plans to replace the consent.

That means in plain language: The district office, as the higher-level authority, can set the first course for the controversial second wind turbine, although Nandlstadt is blocking.

Wind turbine failed again with 7:13

The councils were brief: The BLN, according to Schranner, would not change its mind and would continue to reject it.

It is particularly annoying for him that the district office then makes the decision and no longer the municipality.

Franz Mayer and the CSU also stuck to his no, and the result of the main proceedings for the first wind turbine is still pending.

With 7:13 votes, no communal agreement was reached for another wind power plant this time either.

It was already more open to discussion with regard to an application from the GoL.

Due to the removal of a weeping willow in Figlsdorf, it was found that Nandlstadt had indeed once had a tree protection ordinance - but this had expired 20 years ago without being noticed.

In order to prevent characteristic trees from being felled just like that, the market town should definitely introduce a new tree protection ordinance, argued Bernd Stöckeler (GoL).

Tree Protection Ordinance: CSU Council fears "bureaucratic monster"

Andreas Selmayer (CSU) pointed out, however, that the trees would be planted by the citizens even without the Tree Protection Ordinance - for him such an ordinance would only be a "bureaucratic monster".

In addition, trees would simply have to be felled at times, for example due to diseases.

Such a tree is not a "cast iron god" that will stand for centuries.

In addition, argued Selmayer, one should also bear in mind that the people here live in the country and not in the city, where such regulations might be needed.

Patrick Nocker (UWN) was more open: A decision in principle on such a regulation should be interpreted generously, if at all, so that not every fruit tree felling would have to be applied for.

Regina Schillinger (UWN) warned against a culture of prohibition for “a few trees that are worth protecting” - she rather advocated a reward system.

Franz Mayer also believes that no one would cut down an old tree without a valid reason.

That it works so well, Meyer underlined with the fact that it was not noticed at all that the regulation no longer applies.

However, and Alexander Mörwald (UWN) interjected, a tree protection ordinance would also appear in the integrated urban development concept - and those responsible would have thought something after all.

GoL Council sharply rejects criticism: "Comparison is untenable"

Stöckeler did not let the accusation that the GoL have anything against cutting down a wind turbine, but something against felling it in your own garden: “This comparison is untenable.” The green motion was rejected with 14 votes against.
