Too vague and not very ambitious: Many municipal councils were disappointed with the list of priorities for sports development plans presented by the administration.

Now it should be readjusted.

Holzkirchen

- The opportunities for sport are to be improved in Holzkirchen.

To this end, the municipality created a sports development plan that incorporated the recommendations of the Institute for Cooperative Planning and Sports Development (IKPS).

Representatives from associations, schools and daycare centers were allowed to express their wishes at workshops.

Mayor Christoph Schmid (CSU) and location promoter Eva-Maria Schmitz have now presented a list of priorities of the measures developed to the local council.

The proposals are divided into short-term projects that are to be implemented within three years, medium-term projects that the municipality wants to tackle within four to six years, and long-term measures that can take seven to 15 years to complete.

Fast projects

According to Schmitz, the administration sees a quick implementation in the transparency of hall occupancy.

“That was very important to the clubs.” Digitization is also noted here as a short-term measure.

The sports officer Jörg Wedekind is to develop a system for wooden churches.

A concept for running sports paths is also to be developed quickly.

“Sports that are independent of clubs and going for a walk” have gained in importance in the corona pandemic.

"The RSLC Holzkirchen has done preliminary work," said Schmitz.

The suggestions are based on existing paths and require signage.

Exercise-friendly schoolyards are also high on the agenda.

According to Schmitz, this was taken into account in the tender documents for the new construction of the middle school.

In the waiting line

The block sport and exercise in public space is one of the medium-term projects.

An inventory analysis of playgrounds and green areas is planned.

A location analysis for various types of sport should also be carried out in the medium term, with the importance of the Moarhölzl moving into focus.

The realization of sports facilities requires preliminary work.

Therefore, one would have to deal with concepts or feasibility studies at an early stage.

Various clubs, but also representatives of individual sports such as tennis, swimming and ice sports have expressed their need, according to Schmitz.

A survey of citizens also revealed the desire for an open-air swimming pool.

The question that arises here is to what extent systems can be implemented on Moarhölzl, or what other areas are there, according to Schmitz.

In addition, the question of an additional artificial turf pitch needs to be clarified.

In addition, you have to determine the size of individual sports facilities.

In the long term, the realization of larger sports facilities is to be tackled.

These include, for example, a new ice rink, a new football field or an outdoor swimming pool.

That being said, from the budget year 2021 onwards, special reserves of 200,000 euros are to be reserved for sports development.

Sobering result

The suggestions were not well received by the local council.

Moritz Remuta (Greens) thought - like other colleagues - the special reserve was sensible.

"But the rest is disappointing." He lacked a "perspective for the common good." The schoolyard at the middle school is not the only place where you can act.

There is also a need for action at other schools, said Schmitz.

Hubert Müller (FWG) was also disappointed: “I would have expected more.” Especially with a new ice rink.

Josef Sappl senior (CSU) nodded: “We have been talking about an ice rink for years.

It's time we took the first step. "

Michael Wohlschläger (CSU) missed a solution for the ailing Föchinger gymnasium in the medium-term plans.

The planned Föchinger artificial turf pitch was also a matter of concern to him.

Schmid affirmed that this played a role.

Sebastian Franz (CSU) saw a need for more detail, as did Torsten Hensel (FWG).

“So that clubs can plan better.” Wolfgang Huber (SPD) spoke of the “classic hangover mood”.

The digitization of the hall occupancy could have been done a long time ago.

He wanted a realizable representation for ice rink, soccer, tennis or swimming.

There is a lack of visions.

Years ago there would have been sketches for the Moarhölzl.

According to Schmid, however, you have to do a location analysis here and clarify the development.

"I would like to share the euphoria," he said.

"But we shouldn't gallop."

Robert Wiechmann (Greens) suggested withdrawing the draft resolution in order to revise everything.

That’s what the mayor did in the end.
