Following the opening of the waterfront promenade connecting Tamar and the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre the previous year, the waterfront between the convention and exhibition and Wan Chai pier was also opened at the end of last year, and more than 29,000 square feet of open space will be opened today (19th) , To expand the space of the promenade three times, and set up a "themed area by the ferry terminal", decorated with neon lights and a map to introduce the history of the coastline of Wan Chai.

According to the Development Bureau, it is estimated that by the end of this year to early next year, the newly completed open space on the Wan Chai waterfront will reach 480,000 square feet.

The seafront section between the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center and Wan Chai Ferry Pier was first completed and opened in December last year. It runs from Wan Chai north to Shek Tong Tsui and becomes the longest 5.5-kilometer waterfront promenade in Victoria Harbour.

Today, the newly opened open space covers an area of about 2,750 square meters, or more than 29,000 square feet.

Under the concept of "communication first, then optimization", the space of the corridor was expanded three times.

This project is a "themed area by the ferry terminal", with simple fair-faced concrete and wooden structures as the main theme, which is different from the style of other sections of the promenade.

The site is equipped with a large number of "check-in spots", including the concept of photo frames and neon lights. There are also maps showing the changes of the coastline from the east of Queen's Road to the north over the past 100 years.

The land is also planted with trees to provide shade, with cobblestone paths on the ground and a large number of tables and chairs of different designs, allowing the public to enjoy the seaside space.

The waterfront promenade is a pet-friendly site, and the next phase to be completed includes a pet park.
