The number of new corona infections is increasing, the incidence value is approaching the 100 mark again.

Bavaria's Prime Minister Markus Söder is already calling for a "hard emergency brake" - his colleague from Lower Saxony sees things more relaxed.

Prime Minister Rainer Haseloff (CDU) wants to give the citizens of Saxony-Anhalt an Easter holiday in their own state.

The residents of Saxony-Anhalt should both travel and book accommodation within the state, said Haseloff of the "Bild" newspaper.

"I can't explain to anyone why the same household that lives together anyway isn't allowed to sit in the car with the children and drive to a vacation home in their own state," said Haseloff.

The CDU politician warned against gambling away the acceptance of the corona measures in the population through incomprehensible rules.

"If we make rules that no one understands and many ignore, we won't achieve anything," said Haseloff.

In addition to holiday apartments, Haseloff also wants to allow the residents of his state to travel in mobile homes, according to the "Bild" newspaper.

Call for more openings

The debate about the correct opening or closing will come shortly before the next corona round from the federal and state governments.

On Monday, the Prime Ministers will discuss the continuation of the Corona measures and the possibility of further easing with Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU).

Despite the increasing number of infections, there have been calls from the federal states for further opening steps, which should be safeguarded by strict protection concepts.

Most recently, it was actually agreed that if a seven-day incidence of 100 was exceeded on three consecutive days, tougher anti-corona measures would automatically apply again.

Currently, the value of new infections reported within seven days per 100,000 population has risen sharply: According to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI), the seven-day incidence nationwide on Friday morning was 95.6.

On Thursday it was 90, on Wednesday it was 86.2.
