Aix-Marseille-Provence Rugby and all French rugby mourn Thomas Lacelle.
The Pro D2 winger lost his life in a road accident overnight from Friday to Saturday after losing control of his vehicle and hitting the safety railing of a bridge in Saint-Junien (Haute-Vienne) where he was from.
He was alone in his vehicle.
His lifeless body was found by the divers from the Limoges fire department.
"This terrible news plunges the whole club into immeasurable pain, up to the kindness of the boy," commented his Provence Rugby club in a press release.
25-year-old Thomas Lacelle joined the Provencal team in 2019.
This is news that we would never like to have to announce.
But it is with amazement, and immense sadness, that we learn of the accidental death of Thomas Lacelle today.
