The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Faisal Al-Miqdad, discussed during his visit to the Sultanate of Oman today, Badr Al-Bu Saidi, the Omani Minister of Foreign Affairs, ways to strengthen bilateral relations, consult and exchange views on the most important issues and changes in the region and the world.

Minister Albu Saidi stressed in a private session with Minister Al-Miqdad the stability of the Sultanate of Oman's stance towards Syria and the importance of preserving Syria's important Arab and international position, unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity, and that the solution to the crisis in Syria be in the hands of the Syrians alone.

Dr. Al-Miqdad arrived last night in Muscat on an official visit to the Sultanate of Oman, where he and the accompanying delegation were received by a number of senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the Sultanate, the Syrian ambassador in Muscat, Dr. Bassam Al-Khatib, and members of the embassy.

Minister Al-Miqdad started his activities in the Sultanate today by visiting the National Museum of Oman, where he inspected the manuscript “The Book of Benefits in Knowing the Science of the Sea and the Rules” by the Omani navigator Shihab al-Din Ahmad bin Majid al-Saadi, loaned from the Assad Library in the Syrian Arab Republic to the National Museum in Muscat, where President Bashar had previously issued Al-Assad decreed the manuscript was loaned to the Sultanate of Oman, where it has been restored and restored to good condition for public display.

Al-Miqdad and the accompanying delegation also inspected the collection of finds and artifacts that had previously been touched by terrorism and vandalism, and were restored in the Sultanate in preparation for holding a cultural exhibition of Syrian antiquities and manuscripts later.

During his visit, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates noted the existing cooperation between the National Museum of Oman and the General Directorate of Antiquities and Museums in Syria, stressing the importance of continuing bilateral cooperation in the cultural field between the two brotherly countries, pointing out that the success of cultural diplomacy is an embodiment of the depth of the fraternal historical relationship between the Omani and Syrian peoples.

Minister Al-Miqdad then met with a group of Omani political, diplomatic and media personalities in a dialogue session that dealt with the most important issues of common interest at the bilateral, regional and international levels. Their steadfastness and preservation of their land and constants, and the attendees emphasized that the official and popular position of the Sultanate of Oman is firm towards Syria and its support in the crisis it is going through.

The events were attended by Dr. Bashar Al-Jaafari, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Dr. Al-Khatib, and Dr. Abdullah Hallaq, Director of the Special Office of the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates.
