Several German cities witnessed demonstrations in which thousands participated, during which violent clashes between demonstrators and riot police used tear gas and batons to disperse the demonstrators who took to the streets in protest against the restrictions imposed by the government to confront the outbreak of Corona.
The German news agency reported, "The demonstrators gathered at the famous Brandenburg Gate in the capital, Berlin, at a time when the city authorities deployed about 200 security personnel to confront the protesters, and the city of Kassel witnessed a similar demonstration."
Both demonstrations were marked by violent clashes between protesters and security forces, who clashed with them using tear gas and batons.
Several right-wing groups opposed to the government's anti-epidemic policy called for protests today across the country.
Restrictions on containing the pandemic remain tight in Germany, as restaurants, cultural and sports centers and non-essential stores have been closed for months.
