The Russian Direct Investment Fund called on the European Union to deal with the Russian “Sputnik V” anti-Coronavirus vaccine, based on purely scientific considerations, away from politicization.
The director of the fund, Kirill Dmitriev, told the German newspaper Berliner Zeitung: “We are waiting for a delegation from the European Medicines Agency in mid-April and we hope that the decision regarding“ Sputnik in ”will be“ purely scientific and not political. ”It is expected that the Russian vaccine will be registered in the European Union after next June. It will be allowed to start looking at its supply to the countries of the Union.
Dmitriev expected that members of the European Union would agree to use the vaccine, regardless of the European Medicines Agency’s decision after Hungary, stressing that there are plans to launch the production of this vaccine in Germany and other European countries.
Yesterday, German Chancellor Angela Merkel hinted that Germany would buy the Russian vaccine in the event that European institutions failed to agree on the issue of supplies of the anti-Corona vaccine.
