Big fear for the inhabitants of a building in Pierrefitte-sur-Seine (Seine-Saint-Denis), in the night from Friday to Saturday.
In the middle of the night, a fire broke out in an 80 square meter apartment on the ground floor located at 22, rue Paul-Lafargue.
It was around 4:30 a.m. when the firefighters were called.
The fire, which spread to the upper floor and to the facade, was quickly brought under control, in about thirty minutes, using a single lance.
Twelve people were slightly injured, including a child, from inhaling smoke.
Two residents had to be evacuated by the emergency services, who took them out through the windows with large ladders.
The origin of the fire is unknown at this stage.
Several residents taken to hospital
Among the twelve intoxicated people, several were taken to hospital for further examinations.
These residents inhaled fumes on their own way out of their apartment via the stairwell.
