After long months of silence on the secret channel, in recent weeks contacts have been renewed to reach a POW deal with Hamas.
Talks are being mediated by regional parties in order to take advantage of the elections in Israel and the Palestinian Authority to reach a blueprint that will allow the return of IDF soldiers Oron Shaul Hadar Goldin was killed in the operation a rock and pinion Mengistu and Hisham Shaaban al-Sayed crossing into the Gaza Strip.
Talks come after unplug long According to sources in the defense establishment, during the transmission of messages last year, Israel tried to soften the atmosphere and open negotiations with initial information on the situation of prisoners and missing persons in exchange for the release of prisoners, but the Hamas leadership demanded heavy prices for every piece of information. And the deal did not progress.
"Hamas continues to insist on the release of prisoners with blood on their hands. Until they move away, there is no real progress," the sources explained.

According to the sources, the purpose of the renewal of contacts is to show Hamas an open door to negotiations, despite the sensitive political period for both sides.
Last week, a Hamas-led election campaign ended, in which Gaza leader Yahya Sinwar almost lost, and finally won a narrow second-round majority based on individual votes.
The Palestinian Authority's election campaign for the Legislative Council is currently underway.
According to estimates in Israel, Sinwar will want to bring about public achievements in the near future, especially against the background of the elections that damaged his status and showed that he is no longer in the consensus in Gaza.
The issue of security prisoners is one of the most sensitive and important in the Palestinian street, and if it moves forward with Israel in negotiations, Sinuar could gain points over the Fatah movement, which is fighting for its place in the run-up to the Legislative Council elections.
In September, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh said Egypt was helping To the POW deal, and expressed a commitment to reach an agreement.
That same week, the Political-Security Cabinet approved Defense Minister Bnei Gantz's demand not to return terrorist bodies even if they are not affiliated with Hamas, except in exceptional cases.
During the hearing, POW coordinator Yaron Blum opposed the move, as did the GSS, and made it clear that it could make it difficult to obtain legal permission to hold the bodies of Hamas members.
