A company that tests products and services for the home runs a 24-hour digital detox challenge. You could do it?

(CNN) -

Can't you stop scrolling?

Put the phone away for an hour.

Or, better yet, do it for 24 hours;

you could get $ 2,400.

Reviews.org, a company that tests products and services for the home, runs a 24-hour digital detox challenge.

They will pay the chosen ones more than $ 2,000 if they survive a full day without screens.

"If you have the desire to get away from your devices for a day but need to keep getting paid, this is the perfect opportunity for you," wrote the company on its website where applicants can apply for the challenge.

Stuck on social media?

Perfect (for the challenge)

To help determine who should apply, the company asks some insightful questions.

"Have you always wanted to win competitions like American Ninja Warrior but have been too busy trying to win in Mario Kart and Mortal Kombat?"

ask Applicants Reviews.org.

"Do you know too much about your old friends from social media?"

According to the company, the ideal candidate is someone who is "definitely interested in technology" and up for a challenge.

And while it may seem easy to take an Instagram detox for a day, the challenge is a bit more complicated.

It is not as easy as it looks

Those selected for the challenge will not only have to give up their phones for the day, but also television, video games, computers, smart watches and smart home devices (such as smart speakers.

The company clarifies, however, that microwaves are valid.

Challengers will receive safes to store their electronic devices for 24 hours, along with a $ 200 Amazon gift card to put together a tech-free "survival kit," the company wrote.

Some Survival Kit suggestions from Reviews.org include a typewriter to replace computers, writing paper and paints, and paintbrushes to replace the art of the selfie.

Applicants will have to review the survival kit and provide feedback on the experience after completing the challenge, but they will do so while holding the coveted title "2021 Digital Detox Challenger."

Screen time is a growing health risk

The company's challenge comes at a time when "screen time" has taken on a new meaning.

The pandemic has forced many people to work remotely and students to work online, making screens more than ever a necessity.

According to a 2019 report by the nonprofit Common Sense Media, American teens spent an average of more than seven hours a day in front of the screen just for entertainment.

"We have a feeling someone needs a break," wrote Reviews.org.

To apply, the company asks for some personal information and a 100-word text on why you are the right fit for the challenge.

Applications will be open until March 26, and winners will be announced on the company's YouTube page on March 29.
