Protests and road blockages renewed in a number of Lebanese regions today against the backdrop of deteriorating economic and living conditions and high prices.
The Lebanese National News Agency reported that a number of protesters in Nabatieh headed from the Kafr Ruman roundabout towards the government palace, raising slogans denouncing the poor living conditions.
In Zahle, protesters staged a sit-in in Rayak Tal Amara, chanting slogans to fight corruption, while a demonstration took place in the city of Halba and roamed its streets, and the participants carried Lebanese flags and banners denouncing the economic policy, amid tight security measures by the army and internal security forces.
Since October 17, 2019, many Lebanese regions have witnessed demonstrations and sit-ins to protest against the deteriorating living and economic conditions and to demand the fight against corruption in the country.
