An investigation for murder on spouse and arson was opened after the death of a woman seriously burned in the night from Saturday to Sunday in the fire of her apartment in Perpignan, we learned from the prosecution.

According to the first elements of the investigation, this 55-year-old woman was seriously burned and intoxicated in the fire in her home around midnight, said a police source.
Evacuated by the emergency services, the victim died in hospital.
According to the same source, the neighborhood investigation established that her ex-spouse had left the scene in a hurry after the start of the incident.

This 55-year-old man is "

", in particular for several domestic violence proceedings.
The investigation was handed over to the federal police.
