Report: Iran has threatened to strike at a base in Washington and a senior general
Intelligence sources said the NSA intercepted calls in January by Quds force personnel, who were seeking revenge on Suleimani's assassination due to dissatisfaction with the response so far.
They said they targeted Fort McNair, and the deputy chief of staff, who lives there.
In light of the threats, the military is demanding increased security

The U.S. National Security Agency (NSA) has leaked information that Iran is targeting the capital, Washington, and a senior military general, two senior U.S. intelligence officials said.
According to them, the information that reached the NSA indicated that the Revolutionary Guards were discussing "sound destroyer-style" attacks, referring to the attack against the American ship in 2000, in which 17 people were killed after an inferno boat exploded near it, off the coast of Yemen.
According to intelligence information, Iran planned to attack General Joseph Martin, the deputy chief of staff, and infiltrate the For McNair base, the official residence of the senior officer.
Iran's threats, as part of its desire to avenge the assassination of General Qassem Suleimani in January last year, were among the reasons that led the military to demand increased security around the base, which is located near the new promenade developed along the Washington Canal.
The city authorities oppose the idea, which would significantly restrict access to the area.

According to intelligence sources, who spoke anonymously, the intercepted talks took place between Quds Force members, headed by Suleimani.
According to them, the military leadership in Tehran is dissatisfied with the revenge actions on the assassination of the senior general in Baghdad, especially not with the results of the ballistic missile attack on the Ein al-Assad base in Iraq days later.
There were no casualties in the United States military, but dozens of soldiers suffered brain damage.
The intelligence agents spoke anonymously because they were not allowed to discuss national security issues in public.
The Pentagon, NSA and the National Security Council did not respond or refused to respond to AP inquiries.
