The plenum of the Lower Galilee Regional Council today (Sunday) approved four alternatives to the name of the council (Sha'ar HaGalil, Sdot Hagalil, Mevo Hagalil and Eretz Hagalil), which will be brought to the decision of the residents by voting at the polls within the localities during May.
The process of involving the public in changing the name of the council began last week, with the publication of an open questionnaire to the residents of the council and its employees, in which the respondents were asked to propose a new name to the council together with the reasoning for the election.
The questionnaire was constructed in an open configuration for proposals freely with 2 reservations of professional factors and they are: remain with the word roll and separate from the word bottom.
More than 250 residents and employees responded to the questionnaire, and in addition dozens more proposals came to the council's management desk through informal means such as email, WhatsApp, Facebook and even facsimile forms.
