The CDU member of the Bundestag Karin Strenz has died.
The 53-year-old is said to have lost consciousness on the return flight from Cuba to Germany.
Party circles confirmed this to the editorial network in Germany.
The "Bild" newspaper had previously reported on it.
It is unclear whether it was a business trip.
As soon as it became clear that it was a medical emergency, the pilot decided to make an unscheduled landing in Dublin.
But any help for the politician came too late.
Most recently, the MP from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania was suspected of corruption - because of lobbying activities and monetary payments from Azerbaijani sources.
The public prosecutor's office started an investigation in January.
She was also banned from entering the Council of Europe
Strenz had been in the Bundestag since 2009, she moved in as a direct candidate and sat on the Defense Committee, among other things.
In addition to the mandate, Strenz continued to work as an independent management consultant in the areas of trade, logistics and cargo and brokered real estate.
