Daraa-Sana
The celebration of My Language My Identity, hosted by the House of Culture in Daraa, included various cultural events, including an exhibition of Arabic calligraphy, a reading and reading workshop, artistic and theatrical performances, dialogue scenes and Andalusian muwashahat embody the importance of the Arabic language in our lives.
Culture Director Adnan Al-Falah said in a statement to SANA's correspondent that the celebration is part of the “My Language My Identity” project and includes various activities targeting children, adolescents and youth in the fields of public speaking, eloquence, calligraphy, reading workshops, storytelling and theater, which collectively send a message to deepen Arabic, its literature and arts.
Head of the Culture Office at the Baath Vanguards Branch Ghosoun Al-Homsi talked about the branch's contribution to the celebration through artistic and theatrical performances and an exhibition of Arabic calligraphy presented by a bunch of children.
Mayamin Harfoush, Head of the Cultural Centers Department in the Daraa Culture Directorate, indicated that the department is participating in a reading and reading workshop, with the aim of encouraging reading and reading, limiting the use of smart phones, and turning to libraries and paper books, indicating that the cultural center has a public library that provides internal and external loan services to readers.
Participants Younes Abdullah and Bana Darwish stated that they are participating in the Arabic Calligraphy exhibition with paintings written in Thuluth, Naskh and Raqqa fonts.
Among the participants, Nada Al-Masalma explained that she presented a song entitled “My Arabic is the best of it,” while Rand Al-Sobh indicated that she participated in a dialogue play entitled Arabic Language and the Spoken Dialect, confirming that Arabic is one of the most beautiful languages in the world.
Hashem Al-Muzam participated in the celebration with a story entitled The Last of the Cluster, stressing the importance of devoting these activities because it stimulates and embodies the importance of language in the hearts of young people.
The celebration, which will continue until next Thursday, includes dialogue seminars, poetry and fictional literary forums, and a workshop for children in the field of storytelling.
